By all accounts, the state of Florida had a poor year of football in 2011.
It got worse Friday.
A punter from California, Bryan Anger, was selected ahead of any player from the University of Florida, Florida State or Miami.
Fans of the Gators will have to wait another day for the school's first player to be selected in the 2012 NFL Draft.
For the first time since 2005, Florida did not have a player drafted in the first two rounds.
Friday also marked the first time since 1993 that a UF product was not selected in the first three rounds.
